Peer Review Process

Sistem Informasi Teknologi dan Digital (SITEDI) adheres to a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality, relevance, and originality of the articles we publish. Our goal is to maintain high standards of scholarship and to support the integrity of academic work. Below is an outline of our peer review process:

1. Initial Submission

Authors submit their manuscripts through our online submission system. Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial assessment by the editorial team to ensure it fits within the scope and objectives of the journal.

2. Preliminary Review

The Editor-in-Chief or assigned editorial staff conducts a preliminary review of the manuscript to check for adherence to submission guidelines, originality, and relevance. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s standards or fall outside its scope are desk-rejected at this stage.

3. Peer Review Invitation

If the manuscript passes the preliminary review, the Editor-in-Chief assigns it to an Associate Editor, who invites qualified reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. Typically, two to three reviewers are invited to review the manuscript.

4. Reviewer Selection

Reviewers are selected based on their expertise, experience, and previous performance in reviewing. The reviewers are expected to adhere to ethical guidelines, maintain confidentiality, and disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

5. Review Process

Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on criteria such as originality, methodology, significance of findings, clarity, and contribution to the field. They provide detailed comments and recommendations, which may include:

  • Accept without revisions
  • Minor revisions required
  • Major revisions required
  • Reject

6. Reviewer Reports

The reviewers submit their reports through the online system. These reports are then communicated to the authors along with the editorial decision. The reports are designed to help authors improve their manuscripts, regardless of the decision.

7. Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor makes a decision on the manuscript. Possible decisions include:

  • Accept: The manuscript is accepted as is.
  • Minor Revisions: The manuscript requires minor changes before final acceptance.
  • Major Revisions: The manuscript requires significant changes and will undergo another round of review.
  • Reject: The manuscript is rejected due to significant deficiencies or not meeting the journal’s standards.

8. Revision and Resubmission

If revisions are required, authors are given the opportunity to revise their manuscript in response to the reviewers' comments. Revised manuscripts must be resubmitted within a specified timeframe and will be reviewed again by the original reviewers or new reviewers if necessary.

9. Final Acceptance

Once the manuscript has satisfactorily addressed the reviewers' comments and meets the journal’s standards, it is accepted for publication. The final version is then prepared for publication.

10. Publication

Accepted manuscripts are copy-edited, typeset, and published online in the next available issue. Authors are notified of the publication date, and the article becomes freely accessible to the public under the journal’s open access policy.

Confidentiality and Transparency

The peer review process at SITEDI is double-blind, meaning that both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout the process to ensure unbiased and objective assessments. All correspondence, reviewer identities, and details of the review process are kept confidential.

Appeals

Authors who believe their manuscript was unfairly rejected may appeal the decision by providing a detailed justification. The appeal will be reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief, whose decision is final.
